Granting an appropriate water supply is essential to the sustainable maintenance of the environmental requalification project of the entire Municipal Park in Vivai street. The construction of the irrigation well that uses the firs aquifer, avoiding the waste of drinking water coming from the aqueduct, seems to be a sustainable option to ensure the necessary water flow to maintain the existing green areas and the ones under project. The well, in addition of the irrigation function, will provide water to the pond, ensuring its constant level. This system is both economically and environmentally sustainable. It was decided to realize a drilling of 30 meters from the actual ground level in order to extract water only from the water table. The well will be equipped with a submerged electric pump. It is necessary to create a reinforced room before the well which must contain all the hydraulic equipment up to the gate and the control panel. It is also necessary to consider the space for the maintenance operations. This technical building is located in a strategic position with respect to the main routes, in the square near the sport fields because it not only has the function of containing the mechanical equipment of the well, but it is also furnished with a disabled bathroom. This room is clearly visible form the avenue of the plane trees and in the evening hours. Thanks to an adequate study of the internal light, this chamber becomes a sort of “lighthouse” for the users, irradiating the park from the triangular window of the roof. Read less
